Parents/carers are reminded to contact the school office if your child is unable to attend a session.7
Castletown Primary School Choir is a vibrant and much-loved part of our school community, led by Mrs Ebdon, who proudly continues the brilliant legacy of the late Miss Ní Chomhraí. The choir brings together pupils with a shared love of singing, building confidence, teamwork and a real sense of joy in performance.
Our talented singers enjoy learning a wide variety of songs, from modern favourites to traditional pieces, and rehearse regularly to develop their skills. The choir performs frequently within school and plays an important role in key events and celebrations. They also represent Castletown Primary School at a range of external events, showcasing their enthusiasm and talent to the wider community.
Through their dedication and passion, the choir continues to inspire and uplift audiences, while honouring the strong musical tradition that has become such a special part of our school’s identity.
Choir: Disney's The Lion King Jr. Performance
An unforgettable evening when the choir performed the amazing Disney's The Lion King Jr. show. The acting and signing was worthy of a West End production. We were incredibly proud of our children, staff and volunteers who helped make this a truly spectacular show!

Girls' Football Club
Following the success of the Lionesses team, over 669,000 girls now partake in football which is a safe assumption that the Women's England team has played a part in encouraging more girls to take up football. As part of the Girls Football Club here at Castletown Primary School, pupils are able to learn and develop their skills both on and off the football pitch. Learning new techniques, drills and vital team skills that they require within the sport. The girls are also given a wide range of opportunities to represent the school in matches as well as participate in football festivals at the Beacon of Light.

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme
Castletown Primary School is delighted to be part of the Together for Children Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, which provides fun, enriching activities alongside tasty and nutritious meals for children during the school holidays.
These sessions typically run during the Easter, Summer and Christmas breaks and give school-aged children the chance to enjoy a wide range of activities - from sports and dance to arts, crafts, outdoor fun and even science. There are also sessions focused on cooking skills and nutrition, helping families make healthy choices at home. It's a great way for young people to socialise, learn new skills and stay active.
Sessions are free for children and young people who:
- live in Sunderland
- are of school age (between 4 and 16 years old)
- are eligible for means-tested free school meals during term time
- have a special educational need or disability (up to age 25)
Look out for information on ClassDojo ahead of holiday periods for information about sessions taking place in school, or contact the school office more information.
